Praxis Research Institute introduces a course in Inner Christianity based on many years of search and research into the early writings and recent continuation of the Inner Christian Mystical Tradition. This course is now available on-line, or in some places, in association with experienced individuals.

The course touches on key elements of the Tradition such as Prayer of the Heart; Hesychia; the transmission of inner peace, Christian forms of Illumination, and Theosis or divine union as the purpose of human life. 

Much of what is taught takes the form of living transmission of the Tradition; key teachings that confirm certain ideas of the Fourth Way and which have been learned on Robin Amis' forty prolonged visits to Mount Athos, as well as in continued contact with other students and genuine elders of the Inner Tradition.

They are intended to serve as the basis for finally bringing to the West the inner form of spirituality that has until now never been generally available in Western Christendom or its offshoots. As such the provide a functional basis for non-monastic methods of Christian spirituality such as were known during the time of saints; the first few centuries of the Church.

These readings develop in modern terms the implications of the early Church Tradition of divine union still taught on Mount Athos. Presenter is Praxis Director  Robin Amis, and each meeting is chaired by a Praxis member who has studied with us for many years. Each talk offers full notes online, including written text of most of the more serious statements contained in it.

You are also recommended to obtain Firefox browser - also free - as this is currently most effective in downloading these talks.  If you do not have these programmes, you can download them through links below.  Praxis currently offers two free lectures, each something like an hour in length if run straight through.  Later you can if you wish watch further pay per view lectures in a format that allows you to move forward at your own speed.
